Sacramento has always had a sweet tooth, and bakers, confectioners, and cracker makers have always found a ready market here. The Capital Candy and Cracker Co. had its origins before the turn of the last century, operating at 5th and J Streets, later moving to 2nd Street, where they remained through the 1920s. The building depicted on this billhead from 1918 may be the one that housed the Sacramento Cracker Co. at Front between K and L Streets.
