Summary |
According to this promotional brochure poultry raising was a great way to earn income, either as a sideline to other farming or as a specialized business. The average profit was about a dollar per hen per year (1915 dollars). In the Northern part of the Sacramento Valley turkeys were raised extensively. Other poultry raisers specialized in pigeons, ducks and geese. Sacramento County in the heart of California. |
