Summary
The inside back cover of "Story of the Strawberry," 1902, Sacramento Chamber of Commerce, shows "some 25,000,000 acres of the most fertile land in the world." The Sacramento Valley forms the upper half of the basin shown. The Sacramento Chamber of Commerce beat the drum for Sacramento Valley agriculture, and a glance at the list of officers and directors reveals many of the movers and shakers of the day. Hale Bros.; Weinstock's; Breuner's; Buffalo Brewery; Capital Telephone Co.; Sacramento Electric, Gas & Railway Co.--they all had family members or representatives on the roster. Fertile times for a fertile valley with the favored few firmly in charge. This promotional booklet was printed by H. S. Crocker Co. French, H. A.
