Unknown attendants flank a sign promoting the new Senator Shell filling station at 7th and L Streets in downtown Sacramento late 1927 or early in 1928. Across the street from the old Senator Hotel, the sign in the station window promotes the "It" girl Clara Bow's newest film (released in New York mid-December 1927) playing at the Senator Theater on K Street. Sacramento's team in the Pacific Coast Baseball League during this time was called the Senators in reference to the politicians in evidence throughout the city.
