Judging from the lack of automobiles and the number of buggies and wagons this great shot of the Southern Pacific complex was taken sometime during the first twenty years of the previous century. The back of this postcard reads "The Foundaries, Round Houses and Machine Shops of the Southern Pacific are located at Sacramento, being a terminal point. It gives continuous employment to hundreds of men."
