Summary
This 32-foot caboose was built circa 1872. It was the most common style built by the Central Pacific between 1872 and 1903. The basic configuration included wide side doors near the cupola end for the loading of baggage and express, and 4 bunks. The photograph may be dated after May of 1914 when the side doors were removed. This caboose was retired in April of 1928.
