Summary
"Californians, Inc.", the publishers of this non-profit booklet, had nothing but profit to gain with this enticement to the Golden State. The officers of the group included the presidents or vice-presidents of Standard Oil, Pacific Telephone & Telegraph and Crocker First National Bank while names like Crocker and Hearst show up on the list of directors. The Delta King plied the waters of the Sacramento River from San Francisco to Sacramento. At 1827 tons and 250 feet, constructed in 1926, it and its sister ship the Delta Queen were the flagships of the river.
