The San Francisco Visit

For almost a year, you've been living with your aunt and going to school in San Francisco.   Your mother was very ill with influenza, so you came West to stay with relatives, while she recovered at your home in the East.   During your visit, your aunt took you to the panama - pacific International Exposition, one of the most exciting events of 1915.

One of the things you liked best there was seeing the old steam locomotive,
“C. P. Huntington.”   After being shipped around Cape Horn from New York, it arrived in California in 1864 and helped build the Transcontinental Railroad.   You even bought a postcard to help you remember the little engine.
